Where is Aloha? (Nueva Andalucia Area Guide)

Aloha belongs to Nuev  Andalucía, a well-established development made up of residential areas, shops and restaurants plus several golf courses located a short distance from Marbella on the west side of the Costa del Sol.

Location: This is probably Aloha's biggest attraction because it's very close to Marbella – the old quarter is around 10 minutes' drive away – and also just a short distance from Puerto Banús and the beach.  It takes approximately 40 minutes to get to Malaga Airport.

Peace and quiet: Although it's close to the hustle and bustle of Marbella, Aloha is known for its tranquil residential areas.  Here you can combine proximity to a busy resort with peace and quiet.

Amenities: As part of Nueva Andalucía, Aloha benefits from the development's many amenities.  Here you'll find a good choice of shops including supermarkets such as Supersol, Mercadona and El Corte Inglés, plus a wide range of cafés, bars and restaurants.  Many are located around the bullring where a weekly arts and crafts market is held on Saturday.  Medical amenities are also good in Aloha where there are several private clinics and Spanish state-run health centres.  The Costa del Sol Hospital is nearby in Marbella as is the private Hospiten clinic in Estepona.

Family-friendly: For families with children of school age, Aloha offers a range of education options within the development including Spanish state schools and private international schools such as Aloha College.  Many other international schools are located nearby and have bus transportation to and from Aloha.  For younger children, nursery education is available.

Sports facilities: Sports fans can make the most of golf on their doorstep in Aloha including some of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol – Aloha Golf, Las Brisas and Los Naranjos.  The renowned Manolo Santana Racquets Club is also very close to Aloha and there are several other tennis and paddle tennis courts in the area.  Watersports facilities are just down the road in nearby Puerto Banús.  And for those who enjoy hiking in the countryside, beautiful walks are a short drive away in the Serranía de Ronda mountains.

Getting around :

Taxis from Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus should cost around €65-80 each way.  If you book a rent a car early enough, it may not be much more to hire a car for a week, than the two trips, to and from the airport.
