Benahavís

The pretty little village of Benahavis lies just inland, on the very edge of the Marbella-San Pedro Alcántara section of the Costa del Sol. Though it’s just six kilometres from the area’s beaches and around 15 minutes from San Pedro, Puerto Banús and Marbella town, you’ll feel like you’re deep in the Andalusian countryside when you enter its beautiful green valley setting.

Here wooded hills and green slopes hide murmuring creaks and waterfalls, with soaring mountain ranges in the background. The surrounding countryside is dotted with rustic estates, the ruins of ancient castles and the wooded domain of wild boar and deer, where imperial eagles soar overhead against deep blue skies. Benahavis is also home to some of Europe’s top country club residential areas such as La Zagaleta, El Madroñal, La Quinta, Los Arqueros and Los Flamingos.

And for all this you’re as close or far from Marbella and the many amenities of the Costa del Sol as you want to be, though you needn’t venture far from the village for golf, schools, clinics and shopping. You’ll find excellent restaurants within it too, the reason why Benahavis is called the ‘gastronomic corner’ of the Costa del Sol.

The village features a driving range, public swimming pool and tennis club, an excellent country hotel with first-class spa, and just minutes away some of the best schools, fine dining, racquet clubs and golf courses, making Benahavis a touch of authentic Andalucía combined with the cosmopolitan excitement and nearby facilities of Marbella.
